Crane rail is a  specialty  steel rail, mainly  used  for  overhead  crane  runways  and 
gantry cranes. Lighter sizes  (below 40  lbs.) are used  in amuse-ment park  railways and for underground mine trackage. 

Crane rail differs from railroad rail in two respects:
1. The base width is always equal to the height of the rail (ex-ception– 135 lb. crane rail).
2. Heavier crane rail (104 lbs. and up) has a much thicker web than railroad rail, giving it a very distinctive section.

Note: Different types of steel rail
* Steel Rail’s type is roughly quality kg per one meter.
* At present, China's railway rail type mainly has 75 kg/m, 60 kg/m, 50 kg/m and 43 kg/m,38kg/m,24kg/m,. rail length has 6m, 6.5m, 9m, 9.5m, 10m, 10.5m, 12m, 12.5m and 25m;
* Light rail specifications from 4kg to 30kg, materials are 55Q / Q235;
* Heavy rail specifications from 38kg to 60kg, materials are U71Mn / 50Mn, etc;
* Crane rail specifications QU70, QU80, QU100, QU120, material U71Mn / 75V.
